    RE: Ground cover?

Thanks, Jon! That's exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for . . . I'll check out Imperial Seeds.

Do you have any more information on the Imperial Seeds company? I'm not finding them in web searches.

    RE: Ground cover?

I am finding nothing either - sounds almost too good to be true, but not saying it doesn't exist. That stuff would sell like crazy to many homeowners

This is the closest *I* found, though still trying to figure out what is in the bag itself -> http://www.biggameproshop.com/imperialnoplowinfo.htm & http://www.whitetailinstitute.com/products/noplow/ They send out free samples (hint-hint)

Could that be the product?? Looks like its a clover maybe?? And meant to feed deer obviously - do you want to *attract* deer?

I'll keep digging around as my interest is piqued now, LOL....

    HTH,
    Alex

Ok. I found it again. It was sold by Imperial for awhle but these companies bounce around more than lovers in a nudist colony!LOL

You may not agree with the mission of a company, but if the product is good and American made Why not?

Iplanted this seed and had good luck in the shade as well as full sun light. I have drove my truck all over it without harming it> I drove on it once before sprouted. It is really very nice. I planted it last May and it is about three inchs tall now.

Good luck with whatever you decide and let me know if you find something better!

    Thanks
    Jon

    RE: Ground cover?

Thanks! I have no problems with hunting--even planting forage to attract the game. There are limits, I suppose--I've seen guys who brag about putting out feed buckets right next to their blinds, then acting like their kill was a major milestone in the history of hunting. I am not impressed by that.

We have more than enough deer, but if this works as a ground cover, I may give it a try. I'll let you know . . .

Thanks again--I would never have found it otherwise!

'sprawl: this stuff just may dither the deer away from trees, too. A win-win maybe Make for some great photos if you're into such, also. See, now you have to go buy a really good camera

    RE: Ground cover?

The costs keep adding up--maybe I should just keep mowing everything . . . LOL.

Photo ops with deer are easy on my place (cornfields on three sides, our lake on the other side of me, with woods nearby for cover). I had that big buck walk out and stand next to me last fall when I was kneeling down planting a tree. He was on his way to eat my apple trees in the orchard. He killed one, hurt two. I see his tracks regularly, but he didn't bother the orchard this year. Apparently, the Liquid Fence worked better than the other deer repellants.
