Hazelnut Failure

I don't know what the problem is or was but those hazelnut seedlings you sent me about ten years ago have yet to produce a single nut. I planted them and wired them from the deer. One died right away. The other two are now about 15 feet high but have never produced a nut.

i got 2 also, bout 6-7 years old, no nuts yet...

I'm going to take the wire down and let the deer have them. Except for what the deer will now get out of them this was a total waste of time and effort.

i kept mine caged for the first few years, the deer ignore them now. not much effort for me though, these are growing quite well on their own. wish i had some nuts though.

Might be the 2 you received were both male or both female; Cross Pollenation might be needed like hollies.
