My neighbor says if I plant cucumbers and squash in the same bed they will cross pollinate causing the fruits to taste like each other is this true or just a wise tell or something.

I don't have much experience with this type of thing, but I found an article from the Iowa State extension office that addresses this topic.

They claim that it is not possible for the plants to cross pollinate each other, b/c they are not of the same species. Very interesting question! Thanks for helping me learn something new.
