These photos are from two different trees, hopefully the of same type! It's 70 or 80 feet tall and 18 or 20 in diameter. The leaves are from small shoots at the base.

This is a similar looking tree a few hundred feet from the trees above. This one is around 80 feet tall. This is from the tip of a low branch.

Persimmon has unmistakably unique bark. It looks like alligator skin. That looks more like Black gum. The top one, not the lower one.
