This plant that has hollow stems have 4-7 inch long leaves and it grows very fast. We've cut the whole thing down when it got about 6 or 7 feet tall and it will grow about 3 feet in less than a month or two (estimate). It has about 7-10 stems about 1 or 1 1/2" in diameter coming out of the ground.

That brings back memories of Michigan. Looks like Japanese knotweed, Polygonum cuspidatum.

Thanks, I did some searching on it and I think that is it.

I think this was planted by someone who did not know they are invasive many years ago, I think about 20- 30 years ago. It has not spread thankfully.
I think I need to spray it and kill it. But it will be hard to.
