This tree has opposite leaf arrangement and is whorled. It is located in Ocala, Fl (north central part of the state). I think it might be a catalpas but the leaf looks a lot like a dogwood.

Thanks in advance.

Hey neighbor! Yup, that's a dogwood.

Thanks a lot, what type of dogwood is it? The thing that confused me is that it appears to be whorled, all of the leaves come from the same node which made me think it might be a catalpas.

Tree #2 is evergreen so it must be a laurel cherry

It's a standard flowering dogwood (Cornus florida). I don't see any whorled leaf arrangment in your pictures, just opposite (leaves in pairs). Sometimes, when it's early in the year and the new growth hasn't really started to elongate, the new leaf nodes on a tree can be packed so close together that an opposite arrangement appears whorled (or alternate appears opposite).

In any case, the venation on dogwood leaves is pretty distinctive, and the bark and growth form are typical, as well.
