Hi, I'm thinking about buying a cherry tree. I really don't know too much about them. Can they be grown indoors if they are kept small, or grown indoors while they are young, or kept potted outside?

I love cherry trees and I have always wanted one, but I live in an apartment, so I can't grow one it the yard. :(

Cherry trees need a certain number of cooling hourse each year. This is time spent with the temperature under 45F. This is why these types of cherry trees are not found in very hot parts of the world.
If you do some research on growing Bonsai there might be a strategy for keeping them alive through the winter.
