Hello.Like the subject says I am new to the board and I have a question.I am interested in growing a beech tree from a beech mass this fall and was wondering if this is even possible.I would also like to know,if it is possible, how to go about getting it started, for example in a pot with miracle grow,do I need to let the seed dry out, when is the best time to plant the seed?I'm sorry for the long post, but as you can see I have a lot of questions. Thanks for any input. :)

Here's what's shown for American beech
Propagation by Seed
Time of year to collect seed: autumn
Time of year to sow seed: spring
Seed treatment : stratify 40F 4-5mo.
Preferred temperature for germination : 70-85 degrees F
Comment: Cover seed with one-half inch of soil. Fall sown beds should be mulched and protected against rodents. Seedbeds require half-shade until mid- summer of the first year.
