If I understand right a twenty five foot tall tree with similar spread will have most of its roots with in 25 feet of the tree.

Is this a full sun area? And is this down hill of the tank?

I also contacted tennessee dept of environment, and received the following information : Your best source of advice is to
contact your local University of Tennessee Extension Office. They can
make recommendations specific to your property, soil type, etc. You
find your local office listed in the phone directory under county
government, or visit their Web site for a county directory and for
online information on a variety of topics at www.utextension.utk.edu.

Any recommendations are appreciated, but may also contact the above.
Hope this helps someone else also.

If you do a google search you can find some information on planting near septic systems and in drain fields.
