What can be done to keep your Dogwood tree from dying off?

Here is a good site on the diseases of dogwood trees. Keep in mind that dogwoods prefer acidic soil, so you may want to have your soil pH tested prior to jumping into any expensive remedies.

I wanted to know because I plan on planting 2 more and want to prevent this happening to the new ones. It seems a common thing "dying off" in this area. We do have acidic soil in this area so that's not a problem. Are there anymore sites like this one?
